Olumide (fondly called Lummie), was born to late Olugbenga and Apeke Akinterinwa on December 12, 1975, in Ibadan, Nigeria. As a young boy he travelled with his parents throughout Nigeria and Sierra Leone. His parents finally settled in Lagos Nigeria where he completed his primary education. He was a precocious reader and a talented artist. He then attended International School, Ibadan, Nigeria, for his secondary education. Having excelled in academics, he readily obtained admission to the university of Ibadan. He belonged to many clubs at the the university including University of ibadan medical Students' association, Alexandra Brown Hall press Club, Victory Christian Fellowship and the Forum debate club. Despite several trials and Obstacles he remained strong and graduated from Medical school in 2005. Olumide practiced as a physician in Nigeria for three years at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Lagelu General Hospital, Ibadan as well as the Association for reproductive and Family Health, Ibadan. On May 10, 2007 he married his college sweetheart, Yewande Asekun and they relocated to State College, Pennsylvania in 2008.
